Kansas City Chiefs Rule Out Wide Receiver For Sunday's Game

He won't play this week after all.

The Kansas City Chiefs have ruled out wide receiver Mecole Hardman for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos.

Earlier this week, head coach Andy Reid suggested that Hardman had a good chance to return from the injured reserve for Sunday's game. Now, however, Reid revealed that the wide receiver suffered a setback Wednesday, explaining why he was absent from practice.

Hardman has one more chance to return from the IR before the end of the regular season but, at this point, it seems wiser to hold him out of the team's final game against the Las Vegas Raiders for precautionary measures. However, he must be activated from the IR before the end of the regular season in order to play in the postseason, so the team will likely do that, but still hold him out of the season finale.

In eight games this season, the twenty-four-year-old has 25 receptions for 297 yards and four touchdowns on 34 targets.
