Los Angeles Chargers Star Safety In Concussion Protocol

The Los Angeles Chargers picked up a big win on Monday Night Football over the Colts, ensuring that they would be playoff bound for the first time in the Justin Herbert era, but it didn't come without a cost, as superstar safety Derwin James was ejected for a massive helmet-to-helmet hit that took receiver Ashton Dulin out of the game.

Unfortunately, that's not the end of it, as Chargers Head Coach Brandon Staley has announced that James himself will be going into concussion protocol after the hit, as he got up wobbly following the hit, and now the timer begins on his availability for the Week 17 matchup against the suddenly resurgent Los Angeles Rams.

With two games to play and playoff seeding/matchups to be sorted out, the Chargers will look to finish the season strong, so they'll push to get James healthy, but he is needed for a deep post-season push, so there's a good chance they will be as cautious as possible with their defensive star.
