New Orleans Saints Offensive Lineman Carted to Locker Room

The New Orleans Saints could be without one of their premier offensive linemen for the remainder of their Week 16 showdown with the Cleveland Browns. The team has declared guard Andrus Peat questionable to return after he was carted off the field with a foot injury.

Peat went down in the first half of Saturday's game and had to have his cleat removed. He has yet to return. At the time of his departure, the Saints had yet to score.

Peat has started 10 games for the Saints this season and is a big part of their rushing attack and pass-blocking. A three-time Pro Bowler, he earned a five-year, $57.5 million deal in 2020 that links him to the team through the 2024 season.

Peat initially joined the Saints as their 13th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was present for one of the most fruitful periods in franchise history; from 2017 to 2020, the Saints went 49-15 and finished with a top-five scoring offense in four consecutive years.
