NFL Reveals November Rookies of the Month

The NFL announced its Rookies of the Month for November, and they were a clean sweep for the NFC North. Considering the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions both find themselves under .500, the two young players should provide their fanbases with some much-needed hope. On offense, Packers wide receiver Christian Watson takes home the honors for his 289 receiving yards and impressive six touchdowns. The 34th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft was the hero of the Packers' only win of the month, nabbing four of his eight targets for 107 yards and three touchdowns in a thrilling 31-28 overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys. Watson's emergence should come as a huge relief to a Packers organization desperate for pass catchers; the young wideout had only totalled eight receptions for 64 yards in September and October.

As for defense, Lions edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson gets his flowers for his 13 tackles, two interceptions, one sack, one tackle for loss, and one fumble recovery in four games. It's a curiously underwhelming stat line for the award winner, but traditional counting numbers understate the pass rusher's value. The second-overall pick of this year's draft notched seven total pressure and saved his crucial plays for dramatic wins. He nabbed a red zone interception in a 15-9 win over the Packers, a sack and a tackle for loss against the Chicago Bears, and another interception and a fumble recovery in a 31-18 upset over the New York Giants. The Michigan native was CLUTCH.
