Packers Release Linebacker

Cut by the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers have waived linebacker Tipa Galeai from the injured reserve.

Galeai suffered a hamstring injury back in Week 5 and was placed on the injured reserve and ruled out for the rest of the season shortly after.

However, in November, the Packers surprisingly designated the linebacker to return from the IR but, ultimately, decided not to activate him and instead released him.

The twenty-five-year-old linebacker recorded four total tackles in five games this season. Galeai is in his second season, having recorded 16 total tackles (9 solo) and one sack over 12 career games.

He played almost exclusively on special teams when healthy this season.
