San Francisco 49ers Officially Sign Veteran QB To Active Roster

The San Francisco 49ers have now not only suffered one season ending injury to a starting Quarterback, but after Jimmy Garoppollo in Week 13, they're down their top 2 QB's, leaving Brock Purdy as their starter going forward, but of course, the team need some veteran depth in the QB room.

Today, the team did just that, as they added veteran Josh Johnson to the squad, and will likely serve as the backup for Purdy when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14, with both teams desperate for a victory to keep slim leads alive in their respective divisions.

This will mark Johnson's fourth stint with San Francisco, and given the talent on this team, he may play a crucial role down the stretch as they look to finally take the next step in their chase for Super Bowl glory, even though the pressure will be squarely on the shoulders of Purdy.
