Tampa Bay Buccaneers Designate Linebacker to Return From IR

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have one of their key pieces of depth for their front seven back in the fold for the final stretch of the season. The team activated linebacker K.J. Britt from injured reserve.

Britt has been unavailable since sustaining an ankle injury in a Week 7 21-3 loss to the Carolina Panthers. He had totalled three tackles in seven appearances for the Buccaneers this year before his exit.

The Bucs seldom rotate their inside linebackers; starters Devin White and Lavonte David play every single defensive snap they can. In fact, White hasn't missed a single play this season, and David has only missed one. Should either suffer an injury or earn a break, Britt is likely the next man up. He played 28 snaps in 2021 as a rookie.

Britt initially joined the Bucs as their 176th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft after four years at Auburn. He totalled 118 tackles and 13.0 tackles for loss in 29 appearances for the Tigers.
