Buffalo Bills Declare Safety Hyde Out for Wildcard Round

The Buffalo Bills will have to wait a little bit longer for their Pro Bowl defensive back to make his triumphant return. The team declared safety Micah Hyde out for their Wildcard Round matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

Hyde has been unavailable since injuring his neck in the Bills' 41-7 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 2. The team activated his 21-day practice window earlier this week, but he apparently isn't quite ready to come off of injured reserve.

Hyde joined the Bills via free agency way back in 2017. He immediately rewarded the team with a Pro Bowl season and has maintained consistent quality and playmaking ever since. He totalled 14 interceptions and 35 passes defended over 79 starts from 2017 to 2021. He had never missed more than a game in any season before this year.

The Bills should be fine without Hyde for at least this week. They're colossal 13-point favorites over the Dolphins following the news that Skylar Thompson will start at quarterback on Sunday.
