Giants Release Former First-Round Pick Defensive Tackle

Done with the New York Giants.

The Giants have released former-first-round pick Vernon Butler.

The Giants signed Butler back on Nov. 15, but he only got into one game with the team, recording four total tackles.

Butler played 10 games for the Buffalo Bills last season, recording 11 total tackles. He is a former first-round pick by the Carolina Panthers in the 2016 NFL Draft.

For his career, the twenty-eight-year-old defensive tackle has 106 total tackles, eight sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and three passes defended.

He'll head to the waiver wire and will wait to see if a team takes a flyer on him
