Kansas City Chiefs Sign Former Ninth Overall Pick WR

They liked what they saw.

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed wide receiver John Ross to a reserve/future contract.

Ross landed the deal with the Chiefs shortly after coming in for a workout with the team on Monday. He did not appear in a game all season, as he went unsigned all year.

Unfortunately for Ross, his deal will not go into effect until the team's roster size increases beyond the 53-man limit this offseason, meaning he will not be eligible to play in the playoffs this year.

The twenty-nine-year-old appeared in 10 games with the New York Giants during the 2021 season, recording 11 receptions for 224 yards and a touchdown on 20 targets.

Ross was the ninth overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.
