Las Vegas Raiders WR Adams Sets Franchise Record

The Las Vegas Raiders haven't had the season they hoped for, but they can rest easy knowing they nailed at least one of their offseason splashes. Wide receiver Davante Adams set a franchise record for receiving yards in a season during today's 37-34 overtime loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Adams nabbed seven of his 11 targets today for 153 yards, lifting his season total to 1443 yards, breaking Hall of Famer Tim Brown's franchise record of 1408 yards set in 1997. Adams will have one more game to extend the record even further. His 14 touchdowns also lead the league.

The Raiders traded the Green Bay Packers a veritable bonanza in exchange for Adams and signed the six-time Pro Bowler to a massive five-year, $140 million extension earlier this year. Despite the Raiders' struggles this season, he remained an incredible weapon in the passing game, even without four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers throwing for him.

Adams has given the Raiders everything they could have hoped for this year, but he'll have to be even better to lift them to relevance in 2023. Luring Tom Brady might be a good start.
