New Orleans Saints to Move On From Offensive Coach

The New Orleans are parting ways with one of their veteran coaches. The team has fired run game coordinator and tight ends coach Dan Roushar.

Roushar has served the Saints in various capacities since 2013. He began as the running backs coach until 2014, then worked as tight ends coach until 2015, then offensive line coach until 2020.

Roushar coached for eight top 10 scoring offenses under Sean Payton and developed many Pro Bowlers under his watch, including running back Mark Ingram and offensive linemen Andreas Peat and Terron Armstead. Unfortunately, the Saints offense hasn't survived the departure of quarterback Drew Brees; they've ranked 19th and 22nd in scoring over the past two years.

Roushar has coached exclusively for the Saints at the pro level, but he probably won't have to wait long to find work. He would make sense as a member of Sean Payton's staff, wherever he ends up.
