Jacksonville Jaguars Rumors: Free-Agent Safety On Team's Radar

The 2022 season was a major step in the right direction for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and now their goal is to build off of it in 2023. They are expected to be quite active during free agency due to this fact, and one player who they have on their radar is Jessie Bates III.

It has been established that the Cincinnati Bengals are unlikely to franchise tag Bates, so he is expected to hit the open market because of it. Due to his excellent play these last handful of seasons, he is set to land himself a nice contract, and the Jaguars would be wise to give him just that. After all, they need some serious help at the safety position, and he would give them just that.

Bates appeared in 16 games as a Bengal this season, where he had 71 combined tackles and a career-high four interceptions. There is no question that the Jaguars could use a player like him, so we will need to wait and see if they end up being the lucky club to sign him from here.
