Jets View Free Agent QB As "Significant Upgrade" Over Zach Wilson

It's no secret the New York Jets are looking to add another quarterback this offseason.

According to The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt, the Jets view free agent QB Derek Carr as a "significant upgrade over Zach Wilson."

Rosenblatt noted that the Jets are hoping to come away with either Carr or Aaron Rodgers this offseason.

Obviously, Rodgers would be the team's first choice, so Carr is kind of a fallback plan for the Jets if they can't get Rodgers.

Regardless, Carr is still a top-two option for them right now.

If Rodgers re-commits to the Green Bay Packers, that would lead the Jets to likely make a move for Carr. However, the fact that Carr is now on the open market adds a little bit of urgency to the Jets, as they can't wait all offseason for Rodgers to decide what he's going to do.

They just have to hope he's made up his mind once he returns from his darkness retreat.
