NFL Rumors: Star Wide Receiver "Most Likely" Cut By Chargers This Offseason

According to The Athletic's Daniel Popper, wide receiver Keenan Allen is one of the "most likely" cuts for the Los Angeles Chargers this offseason.

If the Chargers were to cut Allen, they'd save $14.8 million in cap space, which is pretty huge for them, as they are currently $23.43 million over the cap.

Regardless, it would still come as a surprise to see the Chargers release Allen, as he has been a dominant force for them for all 10 seasons of his career.

Unfortunately, though, the Chargers really don't have a lot of other options after they spent big in the 2022 offseason.

There's also the chance, however, that Allen and the Chargers could negotiate a pay cut.

The thirty-year-old was injured for much of this season, and even when he returned it was clear he was still dealing with the issue. He still recorded 66 receptions for 752 yards and four touchdowns on 89 targets over 10 games.
