Baltimore Ravens Provide Update on Injured Wide Receiver

The Baltimore Ravens' quarterback situation may be getting foggier by the day, but at least they have good news to share on one of their key pass catchers. Head coach John Harbaugh revealed today that wide receiver Rashod Bateman is healthy and will be ready to run "in three weeks."

Bateman missed all but six games in 2022 due to a Lisfranc injury. He finished the year having nabbed 15 receptions for 285 yards and two touchdowns. Harbaugh's timeline should allow Bateman to be a full participant in offseason activities.

Bateman joined the Ravens as the 27th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. He showed promise as a rookie, compiling 515 receiving yards over 12 appearances.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson recently requested a trade, so the Ravens' offensive future is currently in flux. Whether or not their future includes the 2019 NFL MVP, the Ravens need to improve their overall talent on offense: they ranked 19th in points scored last year after ranking 17th in 2021. A healthy Bateman is a solid first step, but it will take a lot more if the Ravens want to be a contender.
