Browns To Sign DT Hurst

The Cleveland Browns are reportedly reaching an agreement with defensive tackle Maurice Hurst to a one-year deal, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Hurst was originally drafted by the Oakland Raiders as a fifth-rounder in the 2018 NFL Draft and would go on to play three seasons for them (Oakland and Las Vegas) with them until he was waived on April 15, 2021. He then signed a one-year deal with the 49ers on April 23, 2021, but was unfortunately placed on IR in September of that same year.

The 27-year-old DT played for the 49ers again last season on another one-year deal, but suffered a torn bicep on August 1, 2022, which subseqently sidelined him for the entirety of 2022-23.

Hurst, who is now scheduled to live in Cleveland in 2023-224, has appeared in 42 games in his career. He has recorded 78 tackles, 8.0 sacks, and 17 quarterback hits.
