Buffalo Bills Sign Former Saints Speedy Wide Receiver

The Buffalo Bills have signed former New Orleans Saints wide receiver and return specialist, Deonte Harty, to a two-year deal, according to sources.

Financial details of the contract have not been disclosed, but NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the deal is worth up to $13.5 million, with $5 million guaranteed.

Harty, who missed most of the 2022 season with a foot injury, is known for his speed and ability to function as a downfield specialist. He could also serve as Buffalo's primary kick returner.

The 25-year-old had 36 receptions for 570 yards and three touchdowns in 2021, with nearly 20 percent of his targets being over 20 yards downfield, so he could become an intriguing field-stretching option for Josh Allen in Buffalo.

While Harty's offensive contributions may be limited, he has shown to be a valuable asset on special teams.

In his four seasons with the Saints, Harty had 793 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 64 catches. He also compiled 137 kick-return yards in four games in the 2022 season before being placed on injured reserve.

Overall, Harty's signing adds depth to the Bills' receiving corps and special teams unit.
