Cardinals To Re-Sign CB Hamilton, Add DE Collier

The Arizona Cardinals announced on Tuesday that they will re-sign cornerback Antonio Hamilton and sign defensive lineman L.J. Collier both to one-year deals.

Hamilton recorded his first NFL interception last season for the Cardinals after spending six seasons (Raiders, Giants, and Kansas) on the reserves with multiple teams. He unfortunately suffered a burning incident at his residence early last season and it derailed him some playing time. The 30-year-old appeared in 10 games last year with five starts.

Collier, the former Seahawks DL, was taken in the first round in 2019, but injuries would regrettably keep him off the field throughout his brief NFL career. He recorded seven tackles, defended against two passes, and tallied one quarterback hit in eight game appearances last season for Seattle.

Hamilton will be looking to buff Arizona's secondary while Collier could provide some much needed depth on the Cardinals defensive line with the departure of Zach Allen as a FA, and the void J.J. Watt leaves behind as he departs the NFL into retirement.
