Carolina Panthers Release One Kicker, Sign Another

The Carolina Panthers have had an extraordinary off-season thus far, racking up one of the best coaching staffs in the entire NFL, but beyond that, they've made some very questionable decisions that could pay off big time in 2023.

On Thursday, they made two moves than link together, as they informed kicker Zane Gonzalez that he has been released, while officially re-signing free agent kicker Eddy Pineiro on a two-year deal after putting on a fantastic performance in 2022. 

The #Panthers are re-signing FA K Eddy Pineiro on a 2 year deal, source said. He was 33 of 35 last year.

In all 17 games for Carolina, Pineiro converted 33 of 35 field goal attempts, as well as being 30 of 32 on extra points, and given his bright future in the league, this is certainly a fantastic move for a Carolina Panthers team on the rise.
