Chicago Bears Sign Linebacker Dylan Cole

The Chicago Bears are adding some crucial depth to their linebacker corps. According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the team has signed former Tennessee Titans standout Dylan Cole.

Cole has served primarily as a special teams player and backup linebacker over his six years in the NFL, but he had a career year in 2022. He started in eight of his 15 appearances for the Titans last year, totalling 64 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, and one pass defended. He earned a middling 53.3 overall grade from Pro Football Focus for his efforts.

Cole won't be a game-changer for the Bears, but their defense needs all the help it can get. They finished with the league's worst record in 2022 in part because they allowed the most points in the league and the fourth-most yards. Cole will likely backup splashy free agent signings Tremaine Edmunds (four years, $72 million) and T.J. Edwards (three years, $19.5 million).
