Colts To Sign RB Evans

The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly signing free agent running back Darrynton Evans, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Evans had reportedly worked out for the Colts on Friday and it appears the workout went well enough for both sides to agree on a partnership for the 2022-23 season.

The 24-year-old runner, who was a former 2020 third-round pick, spent his first two years in the NFL with the Titans, but would only appear in just six games for the Tennessee club due to injuries. He was waived on March 10, 22 and the Bears would claim him the next day.

Evans would go on to play six games for Chicago last season recording 14 carries for 64 yards. He also averaged 22.3 yards on 10 kick returns for the Bears on special teams.

The Colts will be looking to use Evans among their backfield core led by their star running back Jonathan Taylor.
