Commanders Sign LB Gerry to 1-Year Extension

The Washington Commanders announced on Wednesday that they have signed linebacker Nathan Gerry to a one-year contract extension for the upcoming 2023-24 NFL season.

Gerry, who was set to become an unrestricted free agent in two weeks, was drafted by the Eagles as a fifth-rounder in 2017. He would go on to playout his four-year rookie deal, but unfortunately suffered an Achilles injury midseason in 2020 and would go on to miss the rest of that season and all of 2021.

The 28-year-old LB signed with the 49ers to a one-year deal in 2021-22, but was waived during preseason and was cut again after joining their practice squad in November 2021.

Gerry joined the Commanders this past season after joining their practice squad during training camp. He appeared in four games and did not record any statistics.
