Detroit Lions Re-Sign Defensive Lineman

The Detroit Lions have re-signed interior defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs to a two-year contract worth $6 million, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Buggs had a career year in 2022, recording 46 tackles, including one sack, while also deflecting two passes and forcing a fumble.

He played in all 17 games last season and started in 13 of them.

Buggs previously spent three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a reserve option before finding success with the Lions. With his strong performance last season, Buggs appears to have secured a long-term starting spot on the Lions' defensive line.

The 26-year-old is entering his fifth NFL season, having recorded 77 total tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and three passes defended over 46 games.

He spent the first three seasons of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers before joining the Lions this past season.
