Detroit Lions Rumors: Defensive End Wants to Stay Put

John Cominsky is set to hit the open market, but if he has it his way, he will sign a new deal with the Detroit Lions. According to Zac Jackson of The Athletic, Cominsky's "Plan A" is to remain a Lion.

Cominsky is set to test his value on the free-agent market, however, as he wants to see if he can land a bigger contract offer on it. However, even with this being the case, he has made it known that he wants to stay in Detroit and hopes that it all works out with them in negotiations.

After a quiet three-year tenure with the Atlanta Falcons, Cominsky put together a solid year with the Lions. In 14 games this past season, he set new career highs with 30 combined tackles and 4.0 sacks. As a result, his value is currently the highest it has ever been.

We will now need to wait and see if the Lions send Cominsky a big enough offer to keep him around. With Cominsky letting it be known that he prefers to stay a Lion, the ball is truly in Detroit's court.
