Houston Texans Release Veteran Center

The Houston Texans are clearly a team on the rise, and heading into this off-season, they'll likely be looking to add young pieces that can grow with the team in coming years, so it will come as no surprise when some of their veteran names are moved in favour of the youth movement.

Brandin Cooks could potentially be on the move soon, and today, Houston officially released veteran center Justin Britt, and while there's no replacement for him on the current roster, their stack of draft picks in the 2023 NFL Draft will no doubt help them find that name.

This move will save the team $3M in cap space, giving them over $40M overall as free agency draws near, allowing them to make several moves that will help mold the team in the way that DeMeco Ryans would like, and at 31-years of age, Britt will have plenty of suitors.
