Las Vegas Raiders Meet With Alabama QB Bryce Young

The Las Vegas Raiders may not be done adding to their quarterback room. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Raiders team brass met with Alabama quarterback Bryce Young ahead of his March 23rd pro day.

The Raiders hold the seventh overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, and it would take at least that much to acquire Young, who is still in play for the Carolina Panthers' first-overall pick. It would be a surprising double dip at the position for the Raiders, who signed Jimmy Garoppolo to a three-year, $72.5 million deal earlier this offseason.

Young's success and production are second to none in the NFL Draft. The 2021 Heisman Trophy winner compiled 8356 passing yards and 80 touchdowns to only 12 interceptions in his last two seasons with the Crimson Tide. His only red flag is his atypical build (5'10 and 204 lbs).

The Raiders have a loaded offense that includes All-Pros in wide receiver Davante Adams and running back Josh Jacobs, as well as valuable complimentary pass catchers in Hunter Renfrow and Jakobi Meyers. If the Raiders only see Garroppolo as a bridge, it may make sense to nab their quarterback of the future now. The Raiders can clear $13 million in cap space by parting ways with Garoppolo in 2024.
