Las Vegas Raiders Sign Defensive Tackle

The Las Vegas Raiders have added a big body to their defensive line. The team announced the addition of veteran defensive tackle John Jenkins.

Jenkins appeared in 16 games for the Dolphins last season, compiling 20 tackles and earning a 58.6 overall grade from Pro Football Focus. He initially entered the league as a third-round pick of the New Orleans Saints in the 2013 NFL Draft. He has played for five different teams across his 10-year career, logging 30 starts and 116 appearances.

Listed at 6'3" and 335 lbs, Jenkins is a powerful run stuffer and a rotational defensive lineman. Despite his long tenure in the NFL, he has never played more than 532 defensive snaps in a season, which was way back in 2015. Strictly an early downs player, he should help a Raiders run defense that allowed 4.5 yards per carry in 2022, assuming he makes the team.
