New Detroit Lions Safety Says Their Roster Is Better Than His Former Team

There's been plenty of shocking moves made this off-season, but one of the biggest was safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson turning down a lucrative offer from the Philadelphia Eagles to join the rising Detroit Lions.

If Gardner-Johnson wanted to endear himself to Lions fans, he's doing a good job, as he told the media earlier today that he believes this roster is 'a little bit better' than the 2022 Philadelphia Eagles that made it all the way to within a few moments of Super Bowl glory.

It may seem like a ridiculous statement, but if you take a look at the rosters, there are plenty of similarities, and given the Lions massive steps forward offensively a year ago, if the defence can step up too, this will be a team ready to compete for an NFC North crown.
