New England Patriots Officially Release Punter

The New England Patriots have been one of the most successful teams in the NFL over the past two decades, and one big reason for that is the fundamentals and special teams, and after bringing back legendary special teamer Matthew Slater, they've released another key piece.

That would be punter Jake Bailey, who was officially released by the Patriots today after spending the last three seasons in New England, earning one All-Pro and one Pro Bowl nod, making it a strange decision from New England.

The 25-year old was a fifth-round pick back in the 2019 draft, and has been one of the most solid players on this Patriots team over that time, earning himself a four-year extension during the 2022 season, but now he finds himself the best punter on the free agency market ahead of 2023.
