New York Giants Visit With Free Agent Cornerback

The New York Giants are considering adding cornerback and special teams player Kris Boyd to their roster.

According to multiple reports, the 26-year-old free agent is visiting with the team.

Boyd was originally drafted in the seventh round by the Minnesota Vikings in 2019 after playing college football at the University of Texas. He has spent his entire four-year NFL career with the Vikings, primarily contributing on special teams.

Boyd played in all 17 games for the Vikings in 2022, recording nine tackles, one forced fumble, and one recovery.

In his career, Boyd has played in 58 games, making six starts and recording 95 tackles, two forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and three passes defended.

However, his biggest impact has been on special teams, where he has played multiple roles and is considered a standout punt gunner.

The Giants have a need for depth at cornerback and could benefit from Boyd's special teams expertise. If signed, Boyd would likely be competing for a roster spot at the back end of the depth chart. Photo Credit: Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports
