New York Jets to Meet With Calais Campbell

Six-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Calais Campbell is taking his pursuit of a new NFL home very seriously. Per NFL Insider Josina Anderson, the 36-year-old free agent is set to visit with the New York Jets on Thursday.

One of the league's most consistent and durable defensive linemen, Campbell spent the last three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, compiling 11.0 sacks and 65 total tackles over 41 appearances.

Listed at 6'8", 300 lbs, Campbell sports one of the league's most unique and overpowering frames. It has carried him through a career that should get Hall of Fame consideration upon his retirement, particularly if he can nab an elusive Super Bowl ring before he retires. He could add highly effective snaps for a Jets defensive line that propelled the team to a fourth-overall finish in yards allowed and points allowed.

Campbell earned $31.5 million over his three years in Baltimore. He's likely hoping for a one-year deal at a similar $10+ million price tag. Given his age, he may have to settle for something a little bit closer to the one-year, $2.1875 million deals Ndamukong Suh and Linval Joseph signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022.
