NFL Rumors: New York Giants Host Top Free Agent Defensive Lineman

The New York Giants are making a push to upgrade their defensive line this offseason, with veteran A'Shawn Robinson reportedly scheduled to visit the team.

Robinson is a seven-year NFL veteran who was drafted in the second round of the 2016 draft by the Detroit Lions.

He spent the last three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, and while his career stats show only 7.0 sacks, he is known for his strength as a run defender.

Robinson suffered a torn meniscus last year and missed eight games in 2020, but he is expected to be healthy for the start of the offseason.

He would be joining a crowded defensive line with Leonard Williams and Dexter Lawrence if he signs with the Giants.

The team has already made some moves in free agency to address their defensive needs, including the signings of off-ball linebacker Bobby Okereke and defensive tackle Rakeem Nunez-Roches.

Overall, it seems like the Giants are making a concerted effort to strengthen their defensive line and improve their run defense in the upcoming season.

With the addition of Robinson, they could have a valuable depth piece to add to their rotation, and a player known for his ability to stop the run. Photo Credit: Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports
