NFL Rumors: New York Giants Won't Pursue WR Beckham

The New York Giants won't reunite with their former superstar anytime soon. According to ESPN's Giants reporter Jordan Raanan, Odell Beckham Jr. is a long shot to end up back with the team that drafted him.

Beckham initially entered the league as the Giants' 12th overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft. He was an immediate sensation, compiling 4122 receiving yards and 35 touchdowns over three Pro Bowl seasons to open his career.

Beckham's career has been hit-and-miss since that scorching hot start; he has hauled in 243 receptions for 3245 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns in the six proceeding years. He missed the entirety of the 2022 season after tearing his ACL in the Los Angeles Rams' Super Bowl LVI win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Giants may have a need at wide receiver, and Odell Beckham Jr. may be looking for a home, but that doesn't mean they're a good fit. There may still be lingering hard feelings from his initial departure, and the Giants (like many teams) may not deem Beckham worth his current asking price. He'll probably end up on a team-friendly deal with a contender looking to make a splash.
