Panthers Offically Release LB Wilson

The Carolina Panthers announced on Friday that they have released linebacker Damien Wilson, who had a $1 million roster bonus due next week.

Wilson initially signed a two-year deal with the Panthers last season, but it seems his play did not meet up to snuff with what the Carolina club expected.

The 29-year-old, who was drafted by the Cowboys as a fourth-rounder in 2015 and spent four seasons there, finished his 2022-23 campaign with 38 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble.

Wilson also spent time with the Chiefs and Jaguars before ultimately landing with the Panthers in 2022 and will now enter free agency which begins starting on March 15th.

The Panthers save approximately $3.61 million in cap space by moving on from Wilson.
