Former Texans DL To Sign With Bears

The Chicago Bears have reportedly acquired free-agent defensive lineman Rasheem Green and have signed him to a one-year deal, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Green, who previously played for the Texans last season, recorded 3.5 sacks, eight QB hits, and five tackles for loss in his 2022-23 campaign. He appeared in 16 games (five starts) for his former Houston club, and was present for almost 50 percent of their defensive snaps last year (48).

The former USC product was originally selected as a third-rounder by the Seahawks in 2018, and spent his first four seasons as a pro in Seattle. The best season of his career came in 2021, where he recorded 6.5 sacks, and combined for 48 total tackles.

The soon to be 26-year-old in May will be looking to duplicate his 2021 performance for the Bears in 2023, as he joins a Chicago club, who recently dealt their star linebacker Roquan Smith to the Ravens last season in November, and is in need of defensive depth.
