Wide Receiver Joins Sixth Team Since 2018; Signs With Panthers

The Carolina Panthers have signed wide receiver Damiere Byrd, who previously played for the team from 2016 to 2018.

Byrd most recently played for the Atlanta Falcons in the 2022 season, recording 13 catches for 268 yards and two touchdowns.

The 30-year-old has played for a total of five different teams in the past five seasons and is known for his speed and versatility as a possible choice for kick and punt returns.

At 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds, Byrd will likely serve as a reserve wide receiver for the Panthers behind starters Adam Thielen and DJ Chark.

Byrd's return to the Panthers may give him the opportunity to revive his career, as he previously had 12 catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns during his previous stint with the team.

Entering his eighth NFL season, he has recorded 130 receptions for 1,689 yards and seven touchdowns on 204 targets across 75 games. Photo Credit: Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
