Colts Add WR Winfree, Waive DE

The Indianapolis Colts have signed free-agent wide receiver Juwann Winfree to a contract, and waived defensive end Guy Thomas, the team announced on Tuesday.

Winfree, 26, was drafted as a late sixth-rounder by the Bronco in 2019, and would only play three games for the Denver club before being placed on IR on December 14, 2019. He was waived on September 2020, but would later sign with the Packers practice squad on October 1, 2020. 

The pass-catcher spent his last three seasons on and off Green Bay's practice squad and appeared in 12 games for the Packers as a whole in which he recorded 75 yards receiving, with zero touchdowns. 

Thomas initially signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2023, and was quickly waived less than a week later. He spent his last two collegiate years in Colorado posting 71 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks.
