Indianapolis Colts Sign Former Giants Tight End

The Indianapolis Colts have recently bolstered their roster by signing tight end Kaden Smith, as reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Smith, a former sixth-round draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2019, found a new home with the New York Giants after being claimed off waivers.

Despite battling injuries during his time with the Giants, Smith showcased his potential with 52 receptions for 413 yards and three touchdowns in 33 games. However, his journey took a turn when he was waived by the Giants in March 2022 due to a failed physical designation.

Smith's most productive season came in 2019 when he made 31 receptions for 268 yards and scored three touchdowns in nine games.

One of his memorable performances occurred during his rookie year in a game against the Washington Football Team, where he contributed six catches for 35 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning score in overtime.

The Colts' decision to add Smith to their tight end room signifies their belief in his abilities, although he will face tough competition for a spot on the 53-man roster.

Meanwhile, the corresponding move involved waiving guard Harris LaChance. With his fresh start in Indianapolis, Smith will aim to prove himself during training camp and contribute to the Colts' offense in the upcoming season. Photo Credit: Kevin R.
