NFL Rumors: New York Jets And Star DT Getting Closer On Long-Term Extension

The New York Jets had a solid 2022 season, showing that they have taken a massive step forward as an organization, and while they saw plenty of standout performances, perhaps none were better than All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, who finally put all of his potential into a 17-game season.

So far in the off-season, we haven't heard much positive news about a potential extension between the two parties, but now, several Jets reporters have revealed that the two sides are now 'not that far apart' in talks, with an official announcement potentially coming in the next few weeks.

At just 25-years of age, Williams has the potential to be one of the best defensive tackles in the entire NFL, and given some of the c contracts we've seen handed out at the position this off-season, it's safe to say both parties will allow him to become one of the highest paid in the NFL.
