NFL Rumors: Pittsburgh Steelers Working On Extension With Young Pass Rusher

 

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been one of the most successful teams in NFL history, and while they've managed to do so through some great Quarterback play, it's the defence that has been synonymous with this franchise since the beginning, and as of right now, it looks like they're building another great one.

With the likes of T.J. Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick, this is one of the most dynamic units in the entire NFL, and it now looks like they're locking down another young stud in the making, as it has been revealed the team have begun extension talks with pass-rusher Alex Highsmith.

Update: #Steelers Pass-Rusher Alex Highsmith is working on a long-term extension with the team.

Highsmith had 14.5 sacks last season and led the NFL with 5 forced fumbles.

The 25-year old took a major leap in 2022, recording a career high 14.5 sacks, as well as leading the NFL in forced fumbles with 5, so if they lock him down as he enters the final year of his current contract, Steelers fans will be hoping he can create a dynamic duo up front with Watt.
