NFL Rumors: New Team Linked to DeAndre Hopkins

The Arizona Cardinals recently released star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, and several teams have been linked to him since. Now, a new team has entered the mix, Dianna Russini has reported that the New England Patriots want to sign the veteran.

It is not too surprising to see that the Patriots are looking at Hopkins as a free-agent target. After all, they need help at the wide receiver position if they hope to compete with their AFC East division rivals. As a result, Hopkins would be a player worth bringing in if possible. 

One thing that the Patriots have going against them is that Hopkins has openly stated that he is interested in a potential reunion with the Houston Texans. However, when noting how badly the Patriots need a high-impact wide receiver, they have nothing to lose from making a push for him. 

It will be intriguing to see if the Patriots can convince Hopkins to head to New England. On paper, a match is there, but time will tell what happens on that front.
