Los Angeles Rams Sign Free Agent Tight End

The Los Angeles Rams an addition to their roster by signing tight end Nikola Kalinic.

Kalinic, who previously played in the CFL for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, had a brief stint with the Indianapolis Colts in the 2022 season.

Although he primarily contributed on special teams, appearing in seven games with two starts, Kalinic showed promise during his time in Indianapolis.

He also had workouts with the Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns, and Atlanta Falcons after being waived by the Colts.

In the CFL, Kalinic showcased his abilities as a pass-catcher, recording 23 receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns over two seasons with the Tiger-Cats. While his opportunities on offense were limited in the NFL, his contributions on special teams were evident, as he returned one kickoff for 15 yards.

Now joining the Rams, Kalinic faces a competitive tight end group led by Tyler Higbee.

He will have to compete with the likes of Brycen Hopkins, Hunter Long, and rookies Davis Allen and Christian Sims for playing time.

The signing provides Kalinic with a fresh start and an opportunity to prove himself in the Rams' lineup during training camp, as he aims to secure a spot on the active roster and contribute to the team's success in the upcoming season. Photo Credit: IndyStar Staff-USA TODAY Sports
