Seattle Seahawks to Sign 9-Time Pro Bowl Tackle Jason Peters

The Seattle Seahawks are looking to a future Hall of Famer to turn their offensive line around after a disastrous Week 1. Elite Loyalty Sports announced on Instagram that their client, nine-time Pro Bowl tackle Jason Peters, will join the Seahawks for his 20th NFL season.

Peters, who turned 41 years old in January, most recently played for the Dallas Cowboys, appearing in 10 games during the 2022 season. He is best known for his time with the Philadelphia Eagles, a dominant 11-year run that included seven straight Pro Bowls, 148 starts, and a Super Bowl win in 2017. His play earned him a coveted spot on the Pro Football Hall of Fame's All-2010s team.

The Seahawks were one of many teams in Week 1 who made the playoffs last year yet imploded in their season opener. In a 13-30 blowout at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams, the Seahawks compiled a mere 13 first downs and a miserable 180 yards. Worse yet, they stumbled to a ghastly 12 total yards in the second half. Lest we forget, the Rams were a 5-12 team last year.

At this stage in his career, Peters isn't likely to cure what ails the Seahawks, but he's an established, trustworthy veteran who can raise the floor of just about any offense with steady blocking and position versatility. Even at his advanced age, he earned a perfectly respectable 70.3 overall grade from Pro Football Focus in his limited role with the Cowboys last year.  The Cowboys finished fourth in points scored in 2022.
