Jameis Winston Reveals He "Absolutely" Wants To Play For This Team
While working for Fox Sports at Super Bowl media night, he asked Eagles running back Saquon Barkley where he should sign, and Barkley responded, “I think New York needs a quarterback right now,” later clarifying he meant the Giants.
When asked directly about the possibility, Winston did not hesitate. “Would I really sign with the Giants? Absolutely!” he told NJ Advance Media. “I want to keep playing and do what I do best.”
Winston also praised head coach Brian Daboll, saying he has "a ton of respect" for his offensive system and believes the Giants have "a young roster that’s ready to win."

The Giants are searching for quarterback help after releasing Daniel Jones following a 3-14 season. With no quarterbacks under contract for 2025, they are expected to draft one with the No. 3 pick, possibly Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward.
Even with a rookie addition, they need a veteran presence, and Winston believes he could be a strong fit. He acknowledged the team’s struggles but expressed confidence in their ability to turn things around.
“They’re ready to bounce back. I know they’re hungry over there,” he said. With Drew Lock, Tim Boyle, and Tommy DeVito all hitting free agency, the Giants need an experienced option to support their next signal-caller.

Winston, 31, spent last season with the Cleveland Browns, stepping in after Deshaun Watson’s injury.
In seven starts, he threw for 2,121 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, showing flashes of his big arm and energetic leadership but also some inconsistency. He previously played for the Buccaneers and Saints, gaining experience as both a starter and backup.
His aggressive style and confidence could give the Giants stability behind a young quarterback, though his turnover history remains a concern.
