Aaron Rodgers didn’t waste time making his mark with the Pittsburgh Steelers

The matchup was full of storylines: Rodgers taking on his former franchise, Justin Fields debuting as the Jets’ new quarterback, and new head coach Aaron Glenn leading New York for the first time in the 2025 season.

Fields put up a fight with 218 passing yards, a touchdown through the air, and two more on the ground, but Rodgers’ precision passing and late-game composure sealed the win. Chris Boswell’s 60-yard field goal in the final minute proved to be the difference.

While Rodgers called it just one of 17 games, his performance set the tone for what could be his final NFL season. The Jets, meanwhile, will look to regroup with a home matchup against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2.

It's a dream start for Pittsburgh and Aaron Rodgers, whose signing was questioned nonstop leading up to the start of the season.
