NFL Rumors: Chargers Desperate For A Trade At One Position

The Los Angeles Chargers are reportedly desperate for a running back trade as injuries have shredded their depth chart.

With Najee Harris out for the season and first-rounder Omarion Hampton on injured reserve, Los Angeles has canvassed the league for either a starter or a dependable depth piece.

Kimani Vidal has handled lead duties, but with Hassan Haskins also sidelined and practice-squad elevations on deck, the front office is pressing for help before the Nov. 4 deadline.

Why an immediate Chargers RB trade makes sense
Los Angeles started 3-0 but has dropped three of four while juggling backfield health. The current rotation of Vidal plus practice-squad options like Nyheim Hines, Jaret Patterson, Amar Johnson, and Trayveon Williams is a short-term patch.

A trade would stabilize early downs, add passing-game juice, and relieve pressure on the offense as the schedule tightens.

Targets and market reality for the Chargers
League chatter has centered on Breece Hall of the New York Jets and Alvin Kamara of the New Orleans Saints, though Kamara has publicly downplayed any willingness to move.

A more attainable fit is Cleveland Browns back Jerome Ford, who has seen snaps squeezed by rookies Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson. Ford’s contract status and versatile profile make him a realistic, mid-cost solution if Los Angeles wants a clean complement to Hampton upon his return.
