NFL Rumors: Jets Rejected Trade Offer From Chiefs For Breece Hall

New York Jets running back Breece Hall reacts during 2025 game.

The Kansas City Chiefs pushed to add Breece Hall before the deadline, offering a 2026 fourth-round pick to bolster a backfield thinned by Isiah Pacheco’s MCL sprain.

Talks advanced right up to the buzzer, but Kansas City balked at raising the offer to a 2026 third, valuing four years of control on a future Day-2 player over an eight-game (plus playoffs) rental of Hall.

Jets Draw a Line

The New York Jets refused to discount their best offensive weapon, holding firm at a third-round price.

Hall has been a rare bright spot amid an uneven offense (5.0 yards per carry with added receiving juice) and the Jets indicated a commitment to their young core rather than flipping him for marginal capital after other high-profile moves.

What’s Next for Both Sides

Kansas City will ride a healthier Pacheco, with Kareem Hunt handling short-yardage/third downs and rookie depth in reserve.

The Jets keep leverage on Hall for the offseason (extension, tag, or revisit trade talks) and, more importantly, keep their most dynamic playmaker in green for the stretch run, not that the Jets will likely be anywhere near a playoff spot soon.

For Hall, its disappointing, as rumors have been circulating for a while now that he had asked for a trade.
