NFL Rumors: Ex-Cowboys Jadeveon Clowney Linked to NFC South Team

Jadeveon Clowney, Cowboys

With it now being May, many of the NFL's top free agents have found their new homes. While this is the case, there are still some notable free agents who have yet to land their next contracts.

Among the top free agents for the taking is Jadeveon Clowney. With the 33-year-old defensive end having a strong resume and still being a solid player at this stage in his career, it should only be a matter of time before he lands his next deal.

Now, Clowney is being linked to a team in the NFC South because of it.

In a recent article for Pro Football Focus, Bradley Locker named the Carolina Panthers as the top potential landing for Clowney at this stage of the offseason.

"Although only a handful of teams are in outward need of edge defender help, organizations can never be content with their depth at the position. Despite already signing Jaelan Phillips along their front, the Panthers could be a landing spot for Clowney," Locker wrote.

When noting that the Panthers' defense could use a boost, it would make a lot of sense for them to take a chance on a veteran like Clowney. He would have the potential to be a strong addition to their roster as they look to take another step forward in 2026.

Clowney is coming off a solid 2025 season with the Dallas Cowboys, too. In 13 games, he had 8.5 sacks to go along with 41 combined tackles. With numbers like these, he would be a solid pickup for the Panthers, and it will be interesting to see if they land him from here.
