Giants Linked To Two Quarterbacks After Season-Ending Injury
Dart suffered a season-ending knee injury on the Giants' first offensive possession of Monday's 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams and will undergo surgery.
Head coach John Harbaugh has said New York will add another quarterback and wouldn't rule out doing so through a trade, with a stated preference for bringing in a veteran.
Appearing on ESPN's Get Up, Schefter named Arizona's Gardner Minshew and San Francisco's Mac Jones as the two names to watch.
A Familiar Connection In Arizona
Minshew currently backs up Jacoby Brissett on a Cardinals depth chart that also includes third-round rookie Carson Beck, giving Arizona depth to work with if it wanted to move him.
Minshew spent last season playing for Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy when both were with the Kansas City Chiefs, giving him a head start learning the offense compared to a completely outside addition.

Schefter also noted Minshew has beaten John Harbaugh twice in his career during Harbaugh's time in Baltimore, an unrelated but notable footnote to the connection.
A Much Tougher Ask In San Francisco
Jones represents a far more complicated pursuit.
He's coming off arguably a career year as Brock Purdy's backup under Kyle Shanahan, and Schefter was direct about what it would take. "You could call San Francisco on Mac Jones," Schefter said, but added that prying him loose would cost "a lot" if the 49ers are even willing to listen at all.
San Francisco reportedly sought at least a second-round pick for Jones as recently as this offseason, and with Purdy having missed time in each of the past two seasons, the 49ers have reason to want to hold onto their backup rather than sell low in Week 3.

SNY insider Connor Hughes offered a read on that reality. "No contending team is trading the Giants their backup quarterback," Hughes said.
For now, New York isn't rushing into anything.
Veteran Jameis Winston is set to start this week against Tennessee after going 11-of-27 for 111 yards and an interception in relief of Dart on Monday, and Schefter indicated the Giants want to see how that game plays out before making any decisions.
